At this time post, How to Blog will share how to change domain name on blogspot or in other terms referred to a custom domain. What is a custom domain on blogspot? The point is to use our own domain name (Top Level Domains), but still use the free hosting service owned blogspot. For example, if you use the default domain address from the blogspot, so the address is http://yourblogname.blogspot.com, by setting up a custom domain, then your blog address changed to http://yourblogname.com.

Before explaining about how to perform custom domain on blogspot, I'll describe some of the advantages and disadvantages of doing a custom domain. Here are some of the benefits we can get by doing a custom domain:

Looks more professional
Using your own domain name will greatly affect the assessment of people against you, especially if your blog is a business blog or online store. This will greatly affect the level of trust of others towards you.

High level of confidence
Still in touch with what has been mentioned before, the blog that use their own domain name will get more confidence when compared with the blogs that are still using the sub domains from blogspot. This applies when you play in the business of buying and selling links or paid review program. The advertisers would prefer a blog with own domain name rather than a blog that uses sub domains for free.

Free hosting from Blogger
One of the things that must be observed and an obstacle for a blog that has so many visitors is the problem of hosting. Greater the number of visitors, the greater the cost of hosting. If you do a custom domain, then you do not need to worry about hosting because everything has been provided free by Blogger.

Relatively safer
In any given time, Blogger did removal of the blog. If one day your blog is deleted by Blogger, you do not need too worried because it was not the end of it all. One thing you must always remember is to do back up your data regularly. If you deleted by the Blogger blog, you should do is create a new blog, then upload the data back up from the blogs that have been removed, and the last to do a custom domain on a domain name of the blog that has been removed. Eventually all returned to normal and you will not lose faithful visitors because the domain you use is still the same.

Custom domain name should be made to the new blog, why? because by doing a custom domain, your blog will become a new blog. All of the number of subscribers, backlinks, PageRank, and other things will become new again. When before was replaced with a custom domain, your blog has a pagerank 4, then after you do a custom domain, the PageRank will return to zero.

Ok, once you know the meaning of the custom domain and know the advantages, it is time we start the steps. The first steps of course you should buy a domain name first. Prices vary widely for a domain, but the average in the range of $ 8. For the needs of this tutorial, I will use the domain from GoDaddy.

I assume you've bought the domain at GoDaddy. Please login first. Already? The next step in the domain manager, click the advanced details. You will be taken on a new page, then see the Total DNS as shown in the picture below:

For adjustment, please click on the link Total DNS Control as shown by the picture above. You will be taken to the new page. On this page, see the section that reads the www as seen in the following figures:

Please check the box, then click on the pencil symbol is on the right to make the adjustment. The pencil symbol as illustrated below:

After clicking on that symbol, you will display a pop-up window that prompts you to fill in the Alias Name and Point to Host Name. Please fill in the Alias Name with the www and on the Point to Host Name by ghs.google.com as shown by the following figure:

Then click the OK button, it will display a notice that the settings have been completed. Until here we have completed half way, the next is to do the settings on Blogger.
Please log in to Blogger to access your dashboard. After logging in, please click the Settings tab, then select the menu publishing. On the following pages, you will see a display like the image below:
Next, you'll be taken on the page to purchase the domain name in the company that is a partner of Google. However, as noted in the previous section, in this tutorial we'll assume that you have purchased a domain name at GoDaddy. So you should do is click the link Switch to Advanced Settings, as shown in the picture:

Next, you must fill in the domain name in the column has been provided. See the following figure:

After you fill in the domain name, please save it. Now your blog is using the domain name itself. Good luck.
